Toyota trusts the CMR team to commit to GT4

Team Classic & Modern Racing will participate in the GT4 European Championship and the French FFSA GT Championship with two Toyota GR Supra GT4. This new collaboration will allow to see the arrival in track of the latest born of the Japanese manufacturer.

For its fourth season in GT4, Team Classic & Modern Racing will be rolling a brand new car: the Toyota GR Supra GT4. The Japanese brand and the Aleesian team came together at the very end of the 2019 season to launch an official collaboration on the GT4 European Championship and the French FFSA GT Championship. A new challenge for the CMR team which will be the first to put the Toyota in competition, developed, among others, by Stéphane Ortelli. The crews will be announced later, but very good drivers will form homogeneous duos combining youth and experience!

Charly Bourachot, team manager of the Aleesian team, is delighted with this confidence given by the world’s biggest manufacturer: « We are very proud to be the first to roll these new GT4 in competition. The GT4 European Championship

The GT4 European Championship organized by SRO Motorsport Group brings together the best European drivers of the category, driving prestigious grand touring cars prepared by the best teams. The races, of a format of two times 1H, are always very contested and spectacular. A true step towards the GT3, the category is popular and followed by fans from all over the world.

About the French FFSA GT Championship

Relaunched in 2017 by SRO Motorsport Group, the French FFSA GT championship brings together the GT4 of the biggest manufacturers (Alpine, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, Toyota, etc.). A real springboard to the GT3, the category is popular with many talented drivers. The meetings consist of two free practice sessions, two qualifications and two 1h races (except in Magny-Cours with a race of 1h and one of 2h).

About the Toyota GR Supra GT4

The Toyota GR Supra GT4 is closely linked to the road model: it is equipped with the same 3.0 litre six-cylinder in-line engine, supercharged by a double spiral turbocharger. This racing version was designed to swallow bitumen: this time the same engine develops 430 horsepower.

A seven-speed automatic transmission from the series model will be coupled to its 6-cylinder engine. A Drexler self-locking differential also appears.

On the scale, this Supra GT4 shows 1,320 kg, while the classic version shows more than a ton and a half.
